Balajo Nightclub : At the heart of the authentic Bastille in Paris
Dedicated from its beginning to Java music, the Balajo had the reputation to be the bad boys’ rendez-vous. Thanks to this sulphurous image and the unique playful decoration of its dance floor it quicly became one of the most famous places to be for all Parisians and show business people looking for an exciting new experience.
In 1986 for the celebration of its 50th anniversary, I had the privilege to create its new brand identity. I chose to emphasize the roots of the brand coming from the tradition of popular entertainment, such as the circus and street shows.
Thirty years after, the Balajo stays faithful to this brand identity while offering a large palette of music styles and events that seduced a new generation of afficionados. A young generation, happy to discover the unconventional charm of the Balajo retro style and the modernity of its democratic and casual mood.
